2026 AAPM/RSNA Doctoral and Masters Graduate Fellowships
Doctoral Graduate Fellowships:
- Four Doctoral (PhD/DMP) Awards of $10,000 each
- Two awards will be for first year Doctoral Students.
- Two awards will be for second year or higher Doctoral Students.
MS Graduate Fellowships:
- Three MS Awards of $10,000 each
- All first and second year MS students are eligible to apply.
All award funds are disbursed to the institution, which then transfers them to the student. The funds may be used for tuition, professional development, or research-related expenses.
Eligibility
- Must be a member of AAPM in good standing at the time of application. Pending membership status is not acceptable. Applicants who are not yet AAPM members should apply for membership well in advance, as the process typically requires 2–4 weeks to complete.
- Past recipients are ineligible.
- Each first-year applicant (either for Doctoral or Masters Fellowship) must be a graduate of an undergraduate program in physics or equivalent majors (e.g., engineering-physics, math-physics, or nuclear engineering or applied physics) from an accredited university or college.
- The undergraduate grade point average must be greater than 3.5 (Based on a 4.0 scale).
- Each applicant must have submitted an application for graduate study to one of the CAMPEP-accredited programs with subsequent acceptance.
- Each second-year or higher applicant (either for Doctoral or Masters Fellowship) must be enrolled in a CAMPEP accredited graduate medical physics program.
- For second-year applicants, the first semester graduate grade point average must be greater than 3.5 (based on a 4.0 scale).
- For higher than second-year the grade point average must be greater than 3.5 (based on a 4.0 scale.)
Required Documents & Attestation. Please be prepared to provide the following:
- CAMPEP Accredited Program Acceptance Letter
- Fund statement (300 words or less)
- Personal Statement (300 words or less): your statement should include your interest, knowledge of and/or work experience in the field of Medical Physics. Discuss immediate and long-term career aspirations. Conclude with a discussion of your personal attributes that you believe are important and useful.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Use the required [CV template].
- Upload your completed CV as a PDF file.
- Transcripts
- An unofficial transcript is required at the time of application (a second transcript may be uploaded, if applicable).
- Finalists will be required to submit an official transcript within two weeks of notification.
- Letter of Recommendation
- The recommendation letter request may be submitted before your application is complete. We encourage you to finish this section as early as possible to give your recommender ample time to respond. It is your responsibility to ensure this task is complete. Please be sure to check your application before the deadline to confirm the letter has been uploaded.
- Be prepared to provide the name and email address of your recommender (advisor or faculty).
- Once submitted, the system will automatically email your recommender with instructions. Please advise them to check for an email from noreply@secure-platform.com, which may end up in their spam or junk folder.
- Recommendation Forms (2 required)
- This recommendation form must be completed by two recommenders (advisor or faculty) and uploaded directly into the application system by each recommender.
- The recommendation form request may be submitted before your application is complete. We encourage you to finish this section as early as possible to give your recommender ample time to respond. It is your responsibility to ensure this task is complete. Please be sure to check your application before the deadline to confirm that the forms have been uploaded.
- Be prepared to enter the names and email addresses of the people who will complete this form.
- Once you submit this information, the system will automatically email your recommender with instructions and a link to the form. Let them know to watch for a message from: noreply@secure-platform.com (it may land in their spam or junk folder).
