2025 Sexual and Gender Minority Subcommittee Trainee Travel Award
The AAPM Sexual and Gender Minority Subcommittee (SGMSC) Trainee Travel Award was created to assist medical physics students and trainees in the LGBTQIA2S+ community, an under-represented population in the field, and LGBTQIA2S+ allies with a demonstrated history of championing and/or supporting LGBTQIA2S+ equity. The award covers expenses related to AAPM Annual Meeting attendance (travel, lodging, registration, etc.) up to $2,000.
Award Criteria:
Applicants must submit
- Completed attestation form confirming active enrollment and clearance to attend the 2025 AAPM Annual Meeting
- A personal statement along with their CV describing research-, education-, and/or service-based motivation to attend the proposed meeting
- A letter of support from their program mentor, supervisor, or AAPM mentor familiar with their academic prowess, their work supporting LGBTQIA2S+ equity, and who can speak to their character skills.
This merit-based grant will be awarded to a student, resident or post-doc who has a demonstrated history of championing and/or supporting LGBTQIA2S+ equity.
Eligibility:
Must be a member of AAPM in good standing at the time of application. Pending membership status is not acceptable. If you are not yet an AAPM member, consider applying now to be eligible for the fellowship.
Active enrollment in a graduate program in medical physics, certificate program in medical physics, or medical physics residency.
- Prior recipients not eligible.
